Early Morning Shooting Claims Life in Center Point

A tragic shooting in Center Point early Wednesday morning resulted in the death of a man.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at 6:19 a.m. about a shooting incident at 1641 First Street N.E. Upon arrival, they found the man suffering from gunshot wounds in the front yard of the residence.
According to Sheriff’s spokesperson Henry Irby, deputies immediately administered CPR until Center Point Fire and Rescue arrived. Unfortunately, the victim was declared dead at the scene.
The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed at this time.
