Montgomery Chase Concludes with Man's Arrést and Multiple Charges
Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) - The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) has identified Michael Lockhart, 27, of Montgomery, as the suspect involved in a Thursday morning police chase.
Montgomery, Ala. (TheChronicle) - The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) has identified Michael Lockhart, 27, of Montgomery, as the suspect involved in a Thursday morning police chase.
An ALEA trooper observed Lockhart driving a white Chevrolet Malibu erratically near the North Chase apartments on Alabama River Parkway around 10:25 a.m. When the trooper attempted to pull him over, Lockhart did not stop, prompting a police pursuit.
According to court filings, during the chase, Lockhart threw a backpack from his vehicle. Police later recovered the bag, which contained small bags of marijuana, a scale, and several bags believed to contain crack cocaine.
The chase concluded on the Northern Boulevard, where Lockhart was apprehended. A search of his vehicle revealed additional marijuana, pills, and a scale.
Lockhart was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility. He faces an initial charge of attempting to elude, with additional charges for possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and drug trafficking.
