Arrest of Former Limestone Jail Employees in Drug and Contraband Case
Two former Limestone County jail employees and one of their wives were arrested in a contraband investigation, involving meth, marijuana, and drones. Authorities seized drugs and weapons from their home.
Two former Limestone County jail employees and the wife of one of them have been arrested after authorities discovered drugs and illegal items in their home, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC).
During a search of James and Sophia Chambers' home in Cullman County, narcotics officers found a large amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, guns, and drones. The search was part of an ongoing contraband investigation. James Chambers is a former employee of the Limestone County Jail.
The search led to the discovery of 1.4 pounds of meth, 1.5 pounds of marijuana, five guns, and 10 drones. Both James and Sophia Chambers were arrested and taken to the Cullman County jail, facing charges of meth trafficking and marijuana possession. More charges are expected as the investigation continues.
In a related incident, Becca Marsh, a former correctional officer at Limestone County Correctional Facility, was also arrested. Authorities found 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine at her home. Marsh was charged with using her official position for personal gain.
The investigation is still ongoing, and more charges could be brought against those involved.
