Wale, born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin in Washington D.C., first captured attention in the mid-2000s with his breakout track “Dig Dug (Shake It).” His rise to fame was solidified after signing with Mark Ronson’s Allido Records, where he dropped his debut album "Attention Deficit" in 2008.
