Lee Corso's Absence Explained: Why the College GameDay Analyst Missed the Week 0 Show

ESPN’s "College GameDay" kicked off the 2024-25 college football season on Saturday with its first-ever international show, broadcasting live from Dublin. The event was ahead of the big ACC game between Florida State and Georgia Tech.

However, one familiar face was missing from the panel: Lee Corso.

So, where was Lee Corso?

Host Rece Davis started the show by announcing that Corso, who is 89 years old, was sitting out for the Week 0 broadcast. Although Davis didn’t give a specific reason for Corso's absence, he did confirm that the beloved analyst, known for his "headgear picks," will be back on the show next week for Week 1.

Next week, "College GameDay" will be in Texas A&M for an exciting matchup between the No. 20 Aggies and No. 7 Notre Dame.
