Mayfield man accused of breaking into Walgreens, stealing pills

A Mayfield man is accused of breaking into a pharmacy and stealing prescription pills.,
Chan J. Sonderfan, 38, allegedly threw a paver block through a window of the Walgreens in the town of Amsterdam on Aug. 8. He then took narcotics, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.
Police arrived within minutes and found Sonderfan inside.
Sonderfan was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglar’s tools and petit larceny.
He is also a suspect in other commercial burglaries in Fulton County, investigators said. He was turned over to the Gloversville Police Department.
