Former Alabama high school football star Cam Taylor-Britt made an impressive one-handed interception against Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes during a Sunday game. Taylor-Britt, now playing as a cornerback for the Cincinnati Bengals, had earlier expressed his dislike for the Chiefs and took a jab at their wide receiver, Xavier Worthy, who is known as the fastest player in NFL Scouting Combine history.
Taylor-Britt backed up his talk by making a spectacular one-handed catch while defending Worthy on a deep pass from Mahomes. The interception happened on a second-and-13 play from Kansas City's 38-yard line. Taylor-Britt caught the ball on the run along the left sideline, bringing it down at Cincinnati's 34-yard line as the third quarter ended, with the Bengals ahead 22-17.
Taylor-Britt, a second-round pick from Nebraska in 2022, secured the fifth interception of his NFL regular-season career. He also has one interception in the playoffs.
Although Xavier Worthy had a strong start to the season with two touchdowns in Kansas City's opener, he was limited to two catches for 17 yards and a single 5-yard run during this game. Despite Taylor-Britt’s big play, Kansas City won 26-25 with a field goal on the final play.
During his high school years at Park Crossing in Montgomery, Alabama, Taylor-Britt played as a quarterback. He passed for 1,466 yards, scored 16 touchdowns, and ran for 1,030 yards with 14 rushing touchdowns. He later transitioned to defensive back while at Nebraska
