UFL Week 4 Recap: San Antonio Brahmas Astonish League With First Victory, DC Defenders End Their Unbeaten Run

The Brahmas turned a dismal season into a historic event by defeating one of the league's early-season giants with a resolute 24-18 victory.

UFL Week 4 Recap: San Antonio Brahmas Astonish League With First Victory, DC Defenders End Their Unbeaten Run

Officially, there are no more perfect teams in the United Football League. In a shocking turn of events in Week 4, the San Antonio Brahmas, who had not won until this past weekend, dragged the DC Defenders—who had been undefeated and appeared to be invincible—crashing back to earth.

Jordan Ta'amu of DC almost gave his side the win with a season-high 300 yards from the pass and an additional 74 yards on the ground.
Even though they marched the Defenders to the San Antonio 6-yard line in the game, the Brahmas defense persisted for a game-changing goal-line hold, securing their first victory of 2025 the last two minutes.

The game was won by quarterback Kellen Mond, who skillfully directed San Antonio's attack with a 9-yard pass to Greg Ward that broke an 18–18 tie. Earlier in the fourth quarter, San Antonio had similarly stopped a promising drive at their own 38 by stonewalling the Defenders.

Let us examine the other incredible endings and noteworthy performances from the NFL's fourth week:

Memphis Showboats 9, Michigan Panthers 27

It took until the fourth quarter for quarterback Bryce Perkins to blow up, but he did. The Panthers easily won a close game thanks to two late touchdown passes. With 13 stops, linebacker Frank Ginda led Michigan's punishing defense, which reduced the Showboats to a meager 150 total yards.

St. Louis Battlehawks 15, Arlington Renegades 30

Ajene Harris, the cornerback, slammed the door shut on St. Louis with a 100-yard interception return in the final seconds, electrifying the crowd. Talk about drama. When Chris Odom recovered a fumble and ran 39 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, Arlington's defense had already established the tone. On that same drive, Battlehawks quarterback Manny Wilkins sustained an injury and did not come back.

Houston Roughnecks 16, Birmingham Stallions 23

In a defensive slugfest that demonstrated guts on both sides of the ball, the Stallions held off a grizzled Roughnecks team.
