Fatal Crash in North Alabama: Motorcyclist Killed, Driver Charged with Manslaughter

A man from Madison has been arrested after a deadly two-vehicle accident in north Alabama on Tuesday, which took the life of a man from Harvest.

According to Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash happened around 6:12 p.m. on Blake Bottom Road near Misty Hollow Way, about six miles south of Harvest.

The victim, Dennis R. Salazar, 37, was riding a 2022 Suzuki GSX-R 750 motorcycle when he collided with a 2007 Lincoln MKX driven by Ryan A. Dohrmann, 37, from Madison.

Salazar was thrown off the motorcycle and was declared dead at the scene.

After the crash, Dohrmann was arrested at the site and charged with manslaughter. He was taken to the Madison County Jail, where he's being held on a $30,000 bond.

The Highway Patrol Division of ALEA is still investigating the crash.
