Man's Body Recovered from Tennessee River in Decatur After Boat Incident
A man's body was found in the Tennessee River in Decatur after he jumped off a boat and did not resurface. Authorities are investigating the incident.
A man's body was found in the Tennessee River in Decatur on Sunday morning after he jumped off a boat and didn't come back up.
Around 6:25 a.m., the Decatur Police Department got a call from a group at Hard Dock Marina, located at 3755 Hwy 31 North. They reported their friend was missing after jumping off a boat.
Local fisherman, the Morgan County Rescue Squad, and Decatur Fire and Rescue helped in the search, according to a statement from the Decatur Police Department.
At about 7 a.m., officers found the man's body in the river.
Limestone County Coroner Mike West went to the scene. The man's identity has not been released yet, as authorities are notifying his family.
