Ex-employee indicted on 17 charges after BMW plowed into Leeds business in 2023
A 29-year-old man has been indicted on 17 charges after allegedly deliberately crashing his vehicle into his former workplace in 2023.
Joshua Jermaine Hardrick, of Margaret, was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury on October 25, facing six counts of attempted murder, 10 counts of reckless endangerment, and one count of first-degree criminal mischief.
Hardrick was arrested in February 2023 and remains free on bonds totaling $307,500.
The incident occurred at 3:25 p.m. on February 1, 2023, at TA Services, a logistics company located at 1405 Eight Street in Leeds. Hardrick, a former employee, is said to have returned to the business in a violent manner, intentionally driving his vehicle into the building in an area typically occupied by multiple employees, according to Chief Paul Irwin.
Employees at the scene were able to detain Hardrick until police arrived.
Hardrick had worked at TA Services for several months but had quit six months prior to the crash.
A trial date for Hardrick has not yet been set.
