A new summer release date has been set for the Stephen King thriller that was filmed in Alabama.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting "The Life of Chuck," which was filmed in Alabama in 2024 and features a powerful cast that includes Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, Karen Gillan, Nick Offerman, Jacob Tremblay, Mia Sara, Matthew Lillard, David Dastmalchian, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Based on King's book of the same name, the film, which was directed by horror mastermind Mike Flanagan, employs a creative storytelling technique by delivering the plot backwards. The narrative scenters on Charles Krantz's (Heaston’s) enigmatic life and death, which seems to occur at the same time as the end of the world.

Anticipation for the film surged after it won the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. The movie, which was initially scheduled for a May 30 release, will now be released in theatres in June, according to distributor Neon, though the precise date has not yet been announced. The mysterious phrase, "The secret of a lifetime," was used by the company to hint at the release.

The revised release schedule was hailed as "huge news" for the local industry by the Mobile Film Office on social media. The movie promoted local companies, gave jobs to crew members from Alabama, and included several local places. They also praised the filmmakers for collaborating closely with the community, police, and local government to ensure the success of the production.

"The Life of Chuck" looks like it will be a must-see event this summer because of its Alabama roots, unsettling premise, and star-studded ensemble! Await the official release date with anticipation.
