The song "I am Learning Who I Am" by 90s R&B singer Dawn Robinson describes her experience of living in her automobile.

In a YouTube video, Robinson openly discussed her unconventional way of living, viewing it as a journey of self-discovery rather than a burden.

"I have been living in my car for the last three, almost three years," she admitted. "I stated it. God, it is out!

A Different Reality Following Stardom

When Robinson moved to Las Vegas in 2020 to live with her parents, her life took a different turn. It was a great situation at first, but things quickly changed.

After leaving her parents' home, she spent a month living in her car before receiving assistance from a co-manager in Los Angeles.

She went on to say, "He assured me that even if I do not have much room, I will make it for you."

When she arrived, however, she quickly learned that the spot was not in fact available. Before Robinson made the decision to live entirely in her car, she was forced to spend eight months in motels.

Gaining Self-Sufficiency in "Car Life"

Robinson chose to focus on studying "vehicle life" and discovered a sizable community of people who shared his way of life rather than viewing it as a hardship.

I do not feel like, "Oh my God, poor Dawn," about this. She lives inside her car. It is terrible. "Oh," she clarified, "how unfortunate I am." "I am learning who I am." I am discovering more about who I am as a woman and a person.

Although her circumstances may come as a surprise to fans who recall Robinson as a chart-topping musician, Robinson is more focused on the lessons this experience is teaching her.
