The victim was identified as Quinton Cyrus Holmes Jr., who lived in Fairfield.
The crash happened at 10:47 p.m. Tuesday on EJ Oliver Boulevard at Valley Avenue.
Holmes was taken to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:36 p.m.
Authorities said he was driving one of the cars involved in the crash. No other details have been shared yet.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the accident.
