Wawa Expands in Alabama: Two New Stores Open in Mobile and Robertsdale
Wawa is opening two new stores in southwest Alabama, including the first one in Mobile. The openings mark the company's expansion along the Gulf Coast, with more stores planned in the future.
Wawa, the popular East Coast gas station and convenience store, is continuing its rapid growth in the Gulf Coast area. On Thursday, two new Wawa stores will open in southwest Alabama, including the first store in Mobile.
The first Wawa store in Alabama opened in Fairhope in April, and now the company is adding more locations. The new stores are located at 7095 Cottage Hill Road in Mobile and 21022 Ala. 59 in Robertsdale.
Thursday’s Schedule:

8:00 a.m.: Both stores will officially open. The first 100 customers at each location will receive a free T-shirt. At the Mobile store, there will be live music by the Excelsior Band.

8:30 a.m.: A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at the Mobile store. Wawa executives will provide updates on their expansion plans. State and local officials will also speak. The event will include a check presentation to the charity Feeding the Gulf Coast and a hoagie-making contest between the Mobile Fire and Police Departments.

11:30 a.m.: A similar ribbon-cutting event will happen at the Robertsdale store. The Robertsdale Drum Line will perform, and local officials will speak. Another check will be presented to Feeding the Gulf Coast, followed by a hoagie-making contest between the Robertsdale police and fire departments.
Wawa has announced plans to open seven to ten more stores in Mobile and Baldwin counties over the next three to four years.
