(KRON) — A firefighter was injured, and a cat was revived Thursday morning during a two-alarm residential fire in San Jose. The fire occurred at a two-story home on the 5500 block of Century Manor Court in South San Jose.

According to the San Jose Fire Department, one firefighter was taken to the hospital with burns to the upper back, neck, and ear. The injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

Fire officials told KRON4.com that a cat rescued from the blaze was “alert and meowing” after receiving oxygen, although it had “significant burns.” A dog was also rescued from the fire, but its condition is not yet known.

The fire was extinguished just before 9 a.m. At this time, the cause of the blaze and the full extent of the damage are still under investigation. Initially, officials reported that three people had been displaced by the fire, but the San Jose Fire Department later updated the number to four.
