Tragic Head-On Collision in St. Clair County Kills Two, Injures One
Two people lost their lives in a tragic head-on crash between a motorcycle and a car in St. Clair County, Alabama. A third person was injured and taken to the hospital.
Two Killed, One Injured in a Horrific Head-On Crash in St. Clair County
A tragic accident took place in St. Clair County, Alabama, where a man and a woman lost their lives after their motorcycle collided head-on with a car.
The Alabama State Troopers have identified the victims as Dustin R. Layfield, 33, and Audrey M. Peine, 25. Both were residents of Pell City.
The crash happened early Saturday morning at 8:52 a.m. on U.S. 231, about one mile north of Pell City.
According to Senior Trooper Vu Quang, Layfield was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Peine as his passenger. They collided with a Toyota Camry driven by 35-year-old Billy R. McAnnally from Chelsea.
The impact was severe, causing both Layfield and Peine to be thrown from the motorcycle. Sadly, they were pronounced dead at the scene.
McAnnally, the driver of the car, was injured and taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment. The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing by the troopers.
