Smalls Sliders Expands with Plans for Eight New Alabama Locations
Atlanta-based Smalls Sliders is set to continue its expansion across Alabama through strategic development deals.
The popular cheeseburger franchise announced plans earlier this year to establish up to five new locations in and around Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Auburn. Now, Smalls Sliders is gearing up to open locations in Auburn and Birmingham within the next year.
According to the Cotton State Chronicle, the company has partnered with entrepreneurs Jason Owenby, Kevin Kynerd, and Travis Meyer to develop eight new locations across north Alabama. The trio, who already own 20 Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joints, are eyeing real estate in cities such as Leeds, Trussville, Gardendale, Gadsden, Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence.
Smalls Sliders launched its first restaurant in 2019, offering a simple yet satisfying menu featuring burger sliders, grilled cheese sandwiches, fries, shakes, and the Biggie Smalls, a double-meat slider.
Owenby praised the company's innovative approach, saying, “Having been in the restaurant industry for almost two decades, we knew Smalls Sliders was something special that we wanted to be a part of. We were particularly attracted to the straightforward nature of the concept, with its modular buildout and convenient drive-thru and walk-up options. We are thrilled to be joining the brand during such a promising growth era and can’t wait to bring this amazing experience to even more communities.”
As Smalls Sliders continues to grow, it aims to bring its unique dining experience to more locations, enhancing its presence in Alabama and beyond.
