Peyton Manning Supports Bo Nix as Denver Broncos' New Quarterback
Peyton Manning praises Bo Nix for winning the Denver Broncos starting quarterback position. Nix, a rookie with experience from Auburn and Oregon, is set to lead the team in their season opener.
Peyton Manning believes Bo Nix doesn’t need any advice from him. Manning, the former Denver Broncos quarterback, shared his thoughts on Nix winning the starting quarterback job for the team.
Manning commented this week, saying, “Nix had a fantastic training camp and offseason. His experience and maturity have clearly helped him. He has quickly learned the system, and I'm really pleased for him. Starting as a rookie in your first game is a big deal, but he's prepared and ready for the challenge.”
The Broncos have not made the playoffs since the 2015 season, which was Manning’s final year with the team. Manning mentioned that while Nix is ready, he will need support from his teammates.
“He doesn’t need my advice,” Manning said. “He’ll rely on his teammates, and the veteran players need to support him. They have to play good defense, run the ball well, and make plays for him. He’s ready for this. As Broncos head coach Sean Payton said, Nix has been an excellent student of the game. It’s a long journey for a rookie, but gaining experience early will only help him.”
On Wednesday, Payton announced that Nix won the starting job over Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson. Nix will be the first rookie to start the season opener for the Broncos since John Elway in 1983.
