A new parking deck is set to address downtown Huntsville’s parking problems, especially near Big Spring Park.
The City Council recently approved an updated plan for the CityCentre project, which is located close to Big Spring Park and the Von Braun Center. The new plan includes building a six-story parking deck with 430 spaces next to the upcoming Moxy Hotel and the existing AC Hotel Huntsville Downtown.
Under the agreement, the city will cover $11 million of the construction costs, while the developer, City Centre IV LLC, will contribute $3 million. The city will lease about half of the parking spaces to the AC Hotel and the Moxy Hotel—up to 110 spaces for each hotel—leaving 210 spaces available for general use.
