Country music sensation Keith Urban is set to deliver an unexpected treat for fans in Alabama this Friday, Aug. 16. Urban will be performing a surprise show right in the parking lot of Buc-ee’s, located at 2328 Lindsay Lane S. in Athens, just off I-65 near the Huntsville Brownsferry Road exit.

While details about the event are still under wraps, Urban took to Facebook to tease his followers with a brief but exciting message: “We’ll see ya outside in the parking lot. It’s gonna be a blast.” The event is slated to kick off at 8 p.m., promising an electrifying evening for those lucky enough to attend.

The flier Urban shared hints at the themes of his upcoming album, "High," which is set to be released in September. The phrases “How I Got Here” and “Live @ Buc-ee’s” prominently feature, linking back to his recently announced tour of intimate clubs and dive bars. This tour aligns with the release of his single “Go Home W U,” a track that Urban feels is best experienced in a setting that captures the essence of his musical roots.

“This is how I got to do what I’m doing,” Urban shared in an interview with Audacity.com. He reminisced about his early days performing in small clubs where audiences were more focused on the music. “I’m used to playing in these clubs when nobody cares that you’re up on stage,” he added, highlighting the raw, unfiltered energy of such performances.

While Buc-ee’s is far from a small club, Urban’s impromptu performance aims to capture that same intimate atmosphere. “There is nowhere to hide when people are standing right in front of you,” Urban explained. “There’s no trickery and there’s no net.”
