Two cities in Alabama have secured spots among the top 10 most affordable places to live in the United States.
The rankings were determined by a news magazine that evaluated a variety of factors to assess living costs. These included quality of life indicators such as crime rates, education standards, and commuting experiences. Additionally, healthcare access, housing costs, job market conditions, migration trends, and median household income were all factored into the analysis.
The magazine's assessment revealed that Fort Wayne, Indiana, offers the greatest value for money. Following closely was Huntsville, Alabama.
The magazine highlighted Huntsville's recent urban revitalization: "Huntsville’s downtown area has experienced a significant transformation, with new construction bringing more shopping, dining, and apartment options. The area has also seen the rise of cultural venues, including a former cotton mill turned arts center and a variety of new businesses such as craft breweries, restaurants, and even an ax-throwing venue."
Montgomery, Alabama, was ranked seventh on the list.
The magazine praised Montgomery for its vibrant cultural and historical offerings: "In addition to its rich history, Montgomery boasts a thriving arts scene and a rejuvenated downtown area.
