Innocent Bystanders Injured in Birmingham Shootout at Tom Brown Village

Two innocent women were injured in a shootout at Birmingham’s Tom Brown Village. The incident occurred near 41st Street and Fifth Court North, with both women currently recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Innocent Bystanders Injured in Birmingham Shootout at Tom Brown Village

A shooting in Birmingham’s Tom Brown Village public housing community left two innocent women injured. The incident occurred just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday near 41st Street and Fifth Court North.

According to police, four individuals exchanged gunfire with each other in the area. During the shootout, a woman driving her white sedan along 41st Street North was hit by a bullet that struck her knee.

Another woman, who was sitting on her couch inside an apartment, was also hit. A bullet entered the residence and struck her in the right shoulder, lodging in her back.

Both women were quickly taken to UAB Hospital for treatment. Thankfully, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
