Fatal Early Morning Crash Claims Life of Decatur Man in Limestone County

A devastating single-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning resulted in the death of a Decatur resident in Limestone County. The incident occurred around 3:04 a.m. on U.S. 31, approximately five miles north of Decatur, near Garrett Road.
The victim, identified as 37-year-old Curtis L. Pickett, was behind the wheel of a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta when the vehicle veered off the road. The car struck a road sign, plowed through a ditch, and ultimately overturned. Tragically, Pickett, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
