Braylen Ingraham's Football Journey Ends at Syracuse Due to Injury
Former Alabama defensive lineman Braylen Ingraham's career with Syracuse ends after an Achilles injury. Coach Fran Brown outlines his future plans.
Braylen Ingraham, a former Alabama football defensive lineman, has experienced a devastating Achilles tear that might mark the end of his playing career. Syracuse coach Fran Brown shared the news with reporters on Monday, indicating the severity of the injury.
Ingraham made the move to Syracuse prior to the 2023 season after transferring from Alabama.
“He will not be playing at Syracuse anymore,” Brown stated. “He will undergo surgery and remain with us. We are already working on getting him involved in project management, and we're committed to helping him find a job after this season.”
Coach Brown also expressed a desire to integrate Ingraham into the coaching staff.
Ingraham's tenure with the Crimson Tide spanned the 2019 and 2020 seasons, where he played two games each year. He appeared against Ole Miss and Western Carolina in 2019, and Mississippi State and Kentucky in 2020.
After not playing the following two seasons, Ingraham medically retired from Alabama. He graduated and then decided to continue his football journey at Syracuse.
With the Orange, Ingraham found a more prominent role. As a redshirt junior in 2023, he participated in every game, recording 16 tackles, three tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and two pass breakups.
Ingraham's football career began at St. Thomas Aquinas, where he was a highly touted four-star prospect.
