Get the latest updates on Alabama football injuries as they prepare to face Western Kentucky. Find out the status of key players and how the team is shaping up for the big game.
Kalen DeBoer kicked off the first game week with positive news regarding player injuries.
On Monday, DeBoer was asked about the status of starters Jaeden Roberts and Jam Miller, and he shared some encouraging updates. He mentioned that both Roberts and Miller are expected to practice and should "be ready to go" for the game on Saturday against Western Kentucky.
However, DeBoer was less optimistic about backup linebacker Jeremiah Alexander, who is also dealing with an injury. He said it’s unlikely Alexander will play on Saturday.
Miller has been dealing with some injuries during recent preseason practices, while Roberts got hurt during the second scrimmage.
Miller is expected to be the starting running back this season, and Roberts is anticipated to return to his role as the starting right guard.
Alabama is set to face Western Kentucky on Saturday at 6 p.m. (ESPN) at Bryant-Denny Stadium, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Alabama football with Nick Saban no longer as head coach for the first time since 2006.
