Vestavia Hills witness explosive second half as Thompson surges through the area in Week 5. Showdown.
On Friday night, it seemed as though Thompson might only be rattled by Vestavia Hills. Rebels had a quick edge, controlled speed and an intensity that made the 7A Region 3 match almost inevitable. Despite a slow start, Thompson managed to score despite being second on the team at halftime. No. 5. Vestavia Hills seemed to have their own number.

Then came the third quarter.
The Rebels were left stunned and their home crowd was blown away by Thompson's impressive 12 minutes of football, which included three rapid-fire touchdowns. The Warriors displayed their dynamism, strength, and brutality in what was a once-strategic performance, culminating in an emphatic 35-3 victory.
A slow burn from a vintage Thompson football caused an unexpected firestorm. The ball was smooth and rubbery.
