Tragic Alabama Labor Day Crash: 3 Dead, 1 Injured After SUV Catches Fire
A tragic crash in Mount Vernon, Alabama, on Labor Day morning resulted in three deaths and one injury when an SUV crashed into a tree and caught fire.
A tragic accident in south Alabama has left three people dead and one injured after an SUV ran off the road and struck a tree. The crash occurred around 6 a.m. on Monday in Mount Vernon, along Sam Avenue, about a mile east of Highway 43, according to local police.
Residents nearby reported hearing a loud explosion just before the accident happened. When the SUV hit the tree, it immediately burst into flames. Unfortunately, three of the people inside did not survive, while the fourth person was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The condition of the injured person is currently unknown. The Mount Vernon Police Department is continuing to investigate the cause of this tragic incident.
