Alabama Woman Charged with Murder and Dismemberment of Husband

A woman from Alabama is accused of killing and dismembering her husband. Joselina Elizabeth Lopez, 26, has been charged with murder in the death of her husband, Benito Morales Guzman. She is currently held in Geneva County Jail without bond, awaiting a hearing next week.
The case began when one of Guzman's co-workers became worried after not seeing him for some time and reported his absence to the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators found Guzman’s body on Tuesday afternoon behind the couple’s home on Grady Garner Road in Slocomb, Alabama.
Sheriff Tony Helms has called in the State Bureau of Investigation to assist with the case. He confirmed that Guzman’s body had been dismembered after his death, likely to conceal the crime. Details on how Guzman was killed are still under investigation, with an autopsy underway.
According to court documents, Guzman was killed sometime between August 24 and August 27.
