Teen Shot While Sitting in Vehicle at Hoover Apartment Complex
A 16-year-old boy was shot while sitting in his vehicle at a Hoover apartment complex. Police are investigating the incident, with no suspects in custody.
A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting that took place early Monday morning at a Hoover apartment complex. The incident occurred around 7:16 a.m. at The Benton Apartment Homes on Primm Lane.
According to Capt. Keith Czeskleba, 911 operators received numerous calls reporting multiple gunshots in the area. When Hoover police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the injured teen inside his vehicle.
Emergency responders from Hoover Fire quickly transported the boy to UAB Hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
Police are actively investigating the situation, with officers still on the scene interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. Approximately two dozen evidence markers have been placed in the parking lot as part of the ongoing investigation.
At this time, no suspects are in custody. Authorities have not yet determined whether the shooting was a targeted attack.
