{Chronicle} – Alabama softball had a chance to pull off an upset in the NCAA Tournament’s Knoxville super regional. Entering the bottom of the first inning, the Crimson Tide, heavy underdogs, were up 2-0 against No. 3 Tennessee.

Then, the Lady Vols started hitting. With two outs, Alabama had a chance to end the inning, but a fielding error allowed Tennessee to score their first run.

Lauren Mealer then hit a two-run homer for Tennessee, securing a 3-2 victory. Karlyn Pickens earned the win in the circle for Tennessee, while Kayla Beaver took the loss for Alabama.
