Pittsburgh Steelers Claim Massive Alabama Lineman TyKeem Doss After Ravens Waiver
TyKeem Doss, a towering 6'5", 380-pound offensive lineman from Alabama, joins the Pittsburgh Steelers after being waived by the Baltimore Ravens. Learn more about his journey and new opportunity in the NFL.
TyKeem Doss, one of Alabama's largest football talents, is back in the NFL spotlight. After being waived by the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers quickly scooped up the 6-foot-5, 380-pound offensive lineman on Monday.
Doss, who can play both tackle and guard, was claimed off waivers following a significant injury to Steelers' first-round pick Troy Fautanu. Fautanu, who injured his knee during Pittsburgh's preseason opener—a 20-12 loss to the Houston Texans—is expected to miss two weeks, creating an immediate need for reinforcements on the offensive line.
Hailing from Aliceville, Alabama, Doss made a name for himself as a standout player, leading the Yellow Jackets to the AHSAA Class 1A championship game in 2016. He continued his football journey at East Central Community College before transferring to Southern Miss, where he spent three seasons solidifying his skills.
Doss initially joined the Ravens as an undrafted rookie on May 5, 2023. Although he spent the previous season on Baltimore's practice squad, he did not see any regular-season action. Doss re-signed with the Ravens earlier this year on January 29 but only saw limited playing time in the preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, participating in one offensive snap and two special-teams plays during the Ravens' 16-13 loss.
Now, with a fresh opportunity in Pittsburgh, Doss has the chance to prove himself and make an impact on the Steelers' offensive line.
