Kai Trump, the 17-year-old granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, is gearing up for a new chapter at the University of Miami. The talented young golfer made her commitment to UM’s esteemed golf program public through an Instagram post on Sunday night, where she expressed her overwhelming excitement.
A standout player at The Benjamin School, where she serves as varsity team captain, Kai took a moment to acknowledge those who supported her along the way. She extended her gratitude to her parents, Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, her teammates, coaches, and, notably, her grandfather.
During a recent speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Kai shared heartfelt stories about her 78-year-old grandfather. She reminisced about how he used to surprise her with candy and soda behind her parents’ backs and how he proudly displayed her honor roll achievements to his friends.
Kai also revealed that she and her grandfather often hit the golf course together. “He tries to get inside my head if I’m not on his team,” she joked. “He’s always amazed that I don’t let him rattle me. I have to remind him, I’m a Trump too.”
In addition to starting her college journey in Florida, Kai will be close to other members of the Trump family, including her aunt Ivanka and uncle Jared, who reside in a grand estate in Indian Creek Village, just a short drive away.
