A massive crowd cheered as former President Donald Trump appeared on the jumbotrons during a college football game in western Alabama, as seen in videos from the event.
The footage captures the excitement during the Southeastern Conference matchup between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Trump, located in a skybox, waved and fist-pumped while the crowd below enthusiastically mirrored his gestures.
In the game, Alabama defeated Georgia with a score of 41–34.
The fist pumps recall Trump’s defiant response to his July 13 close shave with death as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, shot at Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Republican presidential candidate sustained a gunshot wound to the ear. Former volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore was killed while shielding his daughter before the United States Secret Service shot Crooks dead.
