Authorities reported on Tuesday that a large quantity of methamphetamine was seized during a traffic stop last week.

The incident occurred on August 2 along westbound State Route 152, east of Casa De Fruta. According to the CHP, an officer stopped a 2013 pickup truck for a traffic violation. During the stop, the officer observed several signs suggesting the driver might be involved in criminal activity.

The driver, later identified as 37-year-old Jorge Luis Lucatero Ramos from Los Banos, was found to be unlicensed. The officer deployed their K-9 partner, Rudi, who gave a positive alert during an exterior check of the truck.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 70 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, valued at around $82,000. Ramos was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine for sale and transportation of methamphetamine.
