Cassie Testifies About Diddy’s 2012 Overdose During Playboy Mansion Party

In a revealing testimony during Sean "Diddy" Combs’ ongoing sex trafficking trial in New York, singer and ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura shared details about an alleged drug overdose the music mogul experienced in February 2012.

According to Cassie’s account, Combs overdosed on strong painkillers following a series of private parties, including a gathering at the Playboy Mansion. Cassie recalled the incident when questioned by Combs’ attorney, Anna Estevao, during cross-examination, even linking the timeframe to the death of music icon Whitney Houston.

The testimony outlined a day that began with what Cassie referred to as a private, drug-fueled party, followed by a visit to a nightclub in San Bernardino. Combs later hosted an after-party at the Playboy Mansion. That night, Cassie said, he admitted to taking a powerful opioid. Concerned for his health, she took him to the hospital where he was treated for an overdose.

The trial has shed light on both Combs' and Cassie’s past substance use. Cassie has openly discussed her previous struggles with addiction, detailing her use of various substances including MDMA, ketamine, cocaine, and more. She also stated that she completed rehab in 2023 and has been sober since.

During cross-examination, Combs’ lawyer suggested that both he and Cassie had patterns of heavy drug use. The defense also explored the nature of their relationship, pointing to romantic text messages exchanged over the years and suggesting that Cassie willingly participated in the lifestyle they led.

However, Cassie stood firm on her claims, stating that while she did take part in many of the experiences to please Combs, there were several times she expressed her discomfort and did not want to participate. She also alleged that Combs displayed controlling behavior, such as instructing local drug dealers not to sell her substances, and grew angry when she used drugs without him.

Testimony from earlier in the week supported some of Cassie’s claims. A witness named Daniel Phillip, who was hired for private events, testified that he once witnessed Combs physically harm Cassie during a party.

Despite moments where the defense tried to challenge Cassie’s memory and credibility — particularly due to her past substance use — she remained composed and consistent in her responses. While the cross-examination did highlight some minor inconsistencies in her timeline, Cassie maintained that her recollections were accurate and not diminished by past drug use.

This trial continues to draw public attention due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved and the serious nature of the allegations.
