BMW Recalls 720,000 Cars for Free Repairs Due to Engine Fire Risk
BMW recalls over 720,000 vehicles due to a potential fire risk caused by a water pump leak. Find out if your car is affected and learn how to get free repairs at your dealership.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that some BMW engines could catch fire due to a problem with the water pump. The issue is caused by a water pump leak, which can lead to a short circuit and, eventually, a fire inside the engine.
According to the NHTSA, about 62,954 vehicles were built with a water pump that may not be properly sealed. Over time, this can allow fluid to get into the electrical plug connector, which could cause the short circuit.
