Estranged Wife of Country Music Star Zac Brown Sues Over Controversial Music Video
Country music icon Zac Brown is facing a lawsuit from his estranged wife, Kelly Yazdi, over the remix video for his song "Beautiful Drug," according to Cotton State Chronicle.
Yazdi alleges that the model featured in the video bears a striking resemblance to her and is portrayed in a negative light. The video depicts the model as "an illegal drug-using, promiscuous, and reckless abuser of alcohol," which Yazdi claims is an attempt to cast her in a false and defamatory light.
In her lawsuit, Yazdi, 33, also asserts that some of the footage used in the video is from her wedding with Brown and that she has not received any compensation for the use of this footage.
In a related development, Zac Brown, 45, obtained a temporary restraining order against Yazdi from a Georgia court in May. On Friday, Brown filed a lawsuit in Georgia seeking an emergency temporary restraining order, injunctive relief, and damages. He cited "several past and threatened violations" as the basis for his legal action.
In a statement to Cotton State Chronicle, Brown said, "I took the steps necessary to enforce an agreement between us to maintain personal and business affairs in confidence and to protect my family from online harassment and speculation."
