Auburn football faced a tough defeat on Saturday, losing 24-14 to Arkansas in their first Southeastern Conference (SEC) game of the season. This loss was similar to their earlier game against Cal, with key mistakes like five turnovers and crucial penalties on third down leading to their downfall.
"It’s frustrating that we keep turning the ball over on offense. I have to fix that,” said Auburn coach Hugh Freeze after the game.
Auburn, now with a 2-2 record, is getting ready for their next challenge against Oklahoma (3-1). Oklahoma is also coming off a loss, falling 25-15 to Tennessee in their SEC opener.
One major moment in the game was when Oklahoma replaced starting quarterback Jackson Arnold with freshman Michael Hawkins.
"He’s got the ability to make plays, especially with his legs, but that can’t be our main strategy," said Oklahoma coach Brent Venables about Hawkins after their loss.
