Alabama’s Rising Stars: Five Sophomores Make MaxPreps All-American Team
Discover which five Alabama sophomores have been named to MaxPreps’ annual Sophomore All-American Team, including standout players Trent Seaborn, Ezavier Crowell, Cam Pritchett, Ba’Roc Willis, and Jabarrius Garror.
In a standout recognition of young athletic talent, five Alabama sophomores have earned spots on MaxPreps’ coveted Sophomore All-American Team, as announced this Friday.
Leading the charge on offense are Thompson quarterback Trent Seaborn and Jackson running back Ezavier Crowell. Seaborn, who delivered an impressive freshman campaign with 2,590 yards and 27 touchdowns, enters his sophomore year with 17 games of experience and a notable ranking of No. 97 for the Class of 2027 by 247Sports. He was also honored as MaxPreps’ National Freshman of the Year last season.
Crowell, recently named the top running back in the Class of 2027 by 247Sports, dazzled with 1,715 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns for Jackson. He also accumulated 212 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 11 catches, alongside 102 yards in punt returns.
On the defensive side, Thompson’s Cam Pritchett, Moody’s Ba’Roc Willis, and Vigor’s Jabarrius Garror were recognized. Pritchett, a powerful 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive lineman, has attracted offers from major programs including Alabama, Auburn, and Florida. Garror, a four-star recruit standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 215 pounds, is ranked No. 43 nationally and committed to Alabama in late July. Willis, also an Alabama commit, has earned a four-star rating and is ranked No. 66 in the Class of 2027.
Alabama joins Texas (12 players), California (11 players), Florida (eight players), and Georgia (five players) as one of the five states with at least five athletes selected for this prestigious list.
