The cause of death of WWE legend Sid Eudy, known to fans as "Psycho Sid Vicious" or "Sid Justice," has been shared by his son, Gunnar Eudy, in a heartfelt social media post.
Gunnar wrote on Facebook, “To the world, he was Psycho Sid Vicious, but to us, he was ‘Popper,’ our beloved grandfather. Sid was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation (AFIB) in 2016, and he also had a pacemaker. In April 2021, he was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, linked to Roundup weed killer. Despite keeping his cancer battle private, he lived life fully — going to the gym, boxing, meeting fans, and watching the kids play t-ball."
"He passed away peacefully in bed, leaving behind a legacy of strength and determination. I’ve never met anyone with a fraction of the strength of my father. He truly was one of a kind.”
Sid’s death was announced on Monday by Gunnar, who revealed that his father had been “battling cancer for several years.”
Standing tall at 6-foot-9, Sid Eudy became a wrestling sensation in 1989 when he joined WCW, wrestling alongside and against major stars like The Steiner Brothers, The Road Warriors, and The Four Horsemen. He later made a significant impact in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where he became a six-time world champion, winning the WWF Championship twice and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice.
Sid was a major attraction at headline events like WrestleMania VIII and WrestleMania 13, where he faced off with icons such as Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker. His WWE debut was marked by his role as Sid Justice, where he acted as a Special Guest Referee at SummerSlam 1991, and later saved Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth from an attack by Jake Roberts and The Undertaker.
Sid Eudy's remarkable career and strength have left a lasting impact on the wrestling world and his fans worldwide.
