Trump sues CBS for $10 billion over ‘60 Minutes’ Kamala Harris interview

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, has filed a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS News and "60 Minutes," claiming that an interview with his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, was edited to mislead voters during the 2024 election.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in the Northern District of Texas, alleges that a version of the interview aired on October 6 excluded an inarticulate response from Harris regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, which had been featured in promotional clips shown on other CBS programs. Trump claims that CBS edited the interview to benefit Harris, a claim CBS News denies.

In a statement, CBS News asserted that the interview was not manipulated and described Trump's lawsuit as "completely without merit." They emphasized that "60 Minutes" aimed to present the interview fairly to inform viewers rather than mislead them.

The "60 Minutes" interview with Harris aired in October, after Trump had initially agreed to participate but later withdrew.

Trump's lawsuit also seeks a jury trial. He has a history of targeting media outlets with publicity stunts, social media accusations, and legal actions, having previously criticized networks like MSNBC, ABC News, CNN, and Fox News Channel.
