Where are the most educated cities in America? These California spots made the top 1

WalletHub has identified two California metropolitan areas as among the most educated in the United States. To determine its rankings, WalletHub evaluated the 150 largest U.S. metropolitan statistical areas based on 11 metrics.

These metrics include:

- The percentage of adults aged 25 and older with a high school diploma or higher

- The percentage of adults with a bachelor's degree or higher

- The percentage of adults with a graduate or professional degree

- The quality of the public school system

- The average quality of universities

- The number of enrolled students in the top 857 universities per capita

The data, sourced from the U.S. Census Bureau, GreatSchools.org, and Yelp, was up-to-date as of June 4.
