Red Lobster Closes 24 Locations, But Huntsville, Alabama Restaurant Reopens

Red Lobster is reopening its Huntsville, Alabama restaurant this week, even as the seafood chain plans to close 24 locations across the country.

The Huntsville location, at 1818 University Drive N.W., will reopen on Wednesday at 10 a.m., according to the Huntsville Madison County Chamber. This restaurant had closed in May along with three other locations in Alabama. The reason behind the decision to reopen this location is still unclear.

Red Lobster has announced closures in many states this year, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

In May, Red Lobster filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company, founded in 1968, is headquartered in Orlando, Florida.

This week, Red Lobster revealed that 24 of its restaurants will be closing. According to news, these locations include:
