Dave’s Pub in Birmingham’s Five Points South is planning to reopen next week. The owner, Dan Williams, mentioned on social media that they are waiting for the liquor license to be finalized after receiving city approval.
Williams stated, “Bottom line, we’ll be open next week sometime.”
He also thanked everyone for their patience and promised exciting updates for their customers: “Thanks for your patience as ours has definitely been tested. But good things come to those who wait and we have a lot of great stuff planned for our friends! See you soon!”
The bar, located at 1128 20th St. S., has been undergoing renovations for several weeks. Initially, they planned to reopen last month, but the date was postponed.
Dave’s Pub was bought by Williams and his wife, Sherri, in May. At that time, the bar was closed for “housekeeping and obtaining all necessary licenses and insurance.”
The bar has kept customers informed about the renovations. On Instagram in June, they shared, “We’ve cleaned, scraped & painted just about every square inch of Dave’s at this point and it looks amazing. The old girl just needed a lil’ facelift.”
