21-Year-Old Identified as Victim of Deadly Center Point Apartment Fire
A 21-year-old man, Ta’Ciaven Malique Craig, was identified as the victim of a fatal fire at a Center Point apartment complex. The Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.

Authorities have identified the man who died in a fire at a Center Point apartment complex one week ago. The victim has been named as 21-year-old Ta’Ciaven Malique Craig.
The fire occurred on Friday, August 16, at 12:09 a.m. in the 1900 block of East Bend Circle, Center Point. Both Center Point Fire and Rescue and Trussville Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a fire in the apartment building, with concerns that someone might be trapped inside.
After the fire was put out, firefighters discovered Craig unresponsive in his apartment. He was pronounced dead at 1:33 a.m.
Authorities believe the fire started in Craig's apartment. The Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office is continuing the investigation into the cause of the fire.
