New Downtown Menlo Park Art Walk Is Expanding

**Elevate Art Menlo Park Enhances Downtown with Vibrant Public Art**

Elevate Art Menlo Park is transforming our downtown into a more engaging and delightful space. Alongside Christine Duval, Debbie Hall, and Jeff Kleck, I am part of a dedicated team working to create a distinctive public art walk in Downtown Menlo Park. Our non-profit organization collaborates with local retailers, restaurants, and building owners to commission and manage contemporary art installations by Bay Area artists. We are committed to enhancing the appeal of our downtown and believe that high-quality art can both enrich our community and elevate everyone’s spirits.

Our approach offers greater flexibility, lower costs, and faster planning and installation compared to traditional public art projects, as we operate independently of public funding, property, and government processes. Our all-volunteer team is action-oriented and focused on making a tangible impact.

In July, we unveiled “Le Mont Rouge” (See Figure 1), the fifth installation in our current collection, located on the Doyle Street side of the Left Bank restaurant. We aim to add at least three more art sites and continue rotating the displayed works. Our success relies on strong community support from both Menlo Park and Atherton residents, as well as local businesses and building owners. We welcome additional site suggestions and private donations.

**Le Mont Rouge + Left Bank**

"Le Mont Rouge," a Provençal landscape by Palo Alto-based artist Flo de Bretagne, was chosen for its vibrant colors and unique perspective, which contrast beautifully with traditional pastoral art. This piece, installed on the Left Bank, a popular French restaurant, is highlighted by the building's deep ocean blue color.

The Left Bank has been an exceptional partner for Elevate Art Menlo Park, enthusiastically joining our Downtown Menlo Park Art Walk and supporting every aspect of the installation of “Le Mont Rouge.” We are thrilled with our collaboration.

“I enjoyed the outdoor art around Menlo Park but was unaware of the Downtown Menlo Park Art Walk program. When the Left Bank was invited to participate, I eagerly accepted,” said general manager Darvin Aragon. “The Left Bank has been a part of Menlo Park for many years, and I wanted to further integrate our restaurant and building into the community. The Elevate Art team was professional and attentive, making us feel like we were reconnecting with old friends for a new experience.”
