Girls Tennis Season Preview (2024-2025)
After a challenging 9-11 season, Paly Girls Tennis aims to rebound and rebuild.
“We’ve lost several key players and are currently working on establishing our new team identity and lineup,” Coach Andy Harader noted.
One significant loss is former top player Erin Li, who has moved on to play college tennis at Swarthmore. “Playing with my sister on varsity, even for just one year, was a lot of fun,” said Tess Li (’27), Erin’s younger sister.
Despite these departures, the team still features players with substantial experience.
Being a freshman on varsity has allowed underclassmen to forge strong bonds with upperclassmen and learn from them. “I loved meeting new people and bonding with the upperclassmen,” said Jaslynn Lee (’27).
Competing in the top division of their league, the team will face some of the state’s toughest opponents.
“Last year was a struggle to stay competitive in the league,” Coach Harader said. “This year will be unpredictable and exciting.”
The season begins with a home match against Carmel this Thursday as the team seeks its first win.
