Four Promoted at First Southern State Bank
FSSB keeps busy in Bama
Scott Kirk, President and Chief Executive Officer of First Southern State Bank, has announced the promotion of Stacey Crabtree, Jed Lockridge, Gail Moore, and Scott Nunley to senior leadership roles.
Stacey Crabtree has been promoted to Senior Vice President. Starting her career at First Southern State Bank in 1985 while still in college, Mrs. Crabtree has worked in various capacities including Teller, Customer Service Representative, Loan Clerk, and Loan Assistant. For the past two decades, she has served as Cashier and managed Human Resources benefits, recently being appointed Secretary of the Board of Directors. Reflecting on her career, Mrs. Crabtree expressed her gratitude for the friendships she has formed.
A Stevenson High School graduate, Mrs. Crabtree holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Jacksonville State University and is an alumna of Alabama Banking School, where her team was recognized as the "Best Bank." She also earned a Master's Degree in Bible Ministry from Covington Theological Seminary, crediting her mother, Aileen Matthews, for her support. Mrs. Crabtree has been active in the Alabama Bankers Association’s Bankers To Leaders group and the Jackson County Highland Ambassadors. She is a member of Roaches Cove Missionary Baptist Church, serving as pianist, Sunday School Teacher, and in the Women’s Ministry. Married to Roger Crabtree for 34 years, they have two children and two grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys reading, journaling, walking, and outdoor activities.
Jed Lockridge has been promoted to Senior Vice President / Loan Officer at the Centre office. Mr. Lockridge began his banking career in 1999 with Farmers & Merchants Bank and transitioned to First Southern State Bank following a merger in 2008. He values the bank’s local decision-making approach, emphasizing its importance in meeting customer needs.
Mr. Lockridge is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and has furthered his education at the LSU School of Banking and Tennessee Bankers Commercial Lending School at Vanderbilt University. A Centre native, he is married to Leann Lockridge, with whom he has four children. He is active in the community, serving on the boards of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and WIOA, and is the current Chairman of East Alabama Works. He enjoys hunting, dog training, and traveling in his spare time.
Gail Moore has been promoted to Senior Vice President. With 36 years of banking experience, Mrs. Moore most recently served as Vice President / Loan Officer in Scottsboro and manages the bank’s marketing and CRA efforts. She is passionate about helping customers achieve their financial goals and appreciates the supportive team at First Southern State Bank.
Mrs. Moore earned an Associate of Science in Business from Northeast Alabama Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of North Alabama. She has completed studies at the Alabama Banking School and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado. Active in various civic and charitable organizations, she serves as Secretary of the Scottsboro Industrial Development Board, Past President of the Scottsboro Rotary Club, and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees at the Kate Duncan Smith DAR School. She also volunteers with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and founded Jackson County Youth Leadership. Mrs. Moore and her husband, Joe, live in Scottsboro. In her leisure time, she enjoys wildlife photography, bass fishing, calligraphy, and reading.
Scott Nunley has been promoted to Senior Vice President. Starting his banking career in 2007 in the Collections Department, Mr. Nunley has served as Vice President / Loan Officer at the Stevenson office and coordinates collections for the bank. He finds joy in helping customers and contributing to community growth.
A Stevenson High School graduate, Mr. Nunley is married to Christy and they have two adult children. He supports local school programs and community events and advocates for shopping locally. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and working on his hobby farm.
