Deadpool continues to dominate the box office.

The movie "Deadpool & Wolverine," one of the biggest hits of the summer, led the box office again during a quiet Labor Day weekend. The movie, featuring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has broken records as the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. Over the weekend, it earned $15.2 million in the U.S. and is expected to surpass $600 million domestically by the end of the holiday. This achievement makes it one of only 16 movies to reach this milestone.

The new movie "Reagan," a biographical film starring Dennis Quaid as President Ronald Reagan, also performed well. It exceeded expectations by earning $7.4 million over the weekend, with a total of $9.2 million expected by Monday. Audience reactions have been positive, giving the film high ratings, although critics have been less favorable.

"Alien: Romulus," a sci-fi horror movie, took second place with $9.3 million in earnings. "It Ends With Us," a film starring Blake Lively and directed by Justin Baldoni, came in third with just over $7.4 million. "Twisters," the sequel to the 1996 hit "Twister," rounded out the top five with $7.2 million.

The horror-thriller "Afraid," featuring an AI villain, earned $3.7 million in its opening weekend. The film follows a family whose AI assistant turns dangerous. Another new release, "1992," a drama set during the Los Angeles riots, made $1.4 million.

Finally, "Slingshot," a new sci-fi movie starring Laurence Fishburne and Casey Affleck, opened with a modest $485,282 across 845 screens. The film is expected to reach $572,763 by the end of the holiday weekend.
